Hello Scott,

Thank you for taking the opportunity to leave your service review. We appreciate all forms of feedback from our customers, whether it be positive or negative, as it aids us in making improvements to our business. I am deeply sorry to hear that you left feeling dissatisfied with your overall DriveTime experience. Please know that we strive to be transparent with our customers regarding all aspects of their purchase prior to sale, and it is unfortunate that you left feeling otherwise.

In reference to your concerns with the structure of your loan, please know that we try to maintain a sense of transparency by disclosing our prices online and posting them on every vehicle for sale at our dealerships. Additionally, it is important to remember that each customer is provided with a Federal Truth in Lending Disclosure during the contracting process. This disclosure details the APR, the finance charge, the amount financed, the total amount expected to be paid throughout the life of the loan, and the total sales price.

In regards to the mechanical issues that you suspect are the result of a previous accident, please know that we inspect each vehicle on our lot prior to sale in order to identify issues such as these prior to sale. Additionally, all of our vehicles include an Experian AutoCheck History Report that indicates any prior liens, owners, and accidents (if applicable). While we try to identify these factors prior to sale, it is important to keep in mind that we would have no knowledge of any unreported accidents or tampering that may have occurred while the previous owner had possession of the vehicle. We encourage our customers to research all aspects of their purchase prior to sale.

I want to apologize again for any frustration this situation has caused. Upon further review, I see that you have already spoken with my Customer Relations regarding the concerns you mentioned in your review. If you are in need of further assistance, I strongly encourage you to continue communicating with my team so we may work toward an amicable resolution.

Respectfully,
Jacob – Customer Relations

We bought our first car from DriveTime and got completely ripped off. Alejondro Torres from DriveTime in Lewisville told us a price for the car ($17,000) and then when he took our down payment of $4,000 he just increased the amount on our contract by $4,000 (up to $21,000).

So basically our money was just taken. We didn't realize when we signed everything because we thought the $4,000 would come off after, like a first payment. So when we signed the contract for $17,000, we thought the down payment was going to come off and we'd have a loan for $13,000. No!

Not at all! He lied to our faces! Completely deceived us. Now that we've been driving the car for a while, it has tons of issues that can only be caused by it being wrecked (the trunk doesn't work, the tires are rubbing on one side, etc.).

Alejondro told us the car had not been in a wreck. Now we are upside down in a car that has damage. It's been a horrible experience!

Do not buy a car from DriveTime!! They are dishonest and deceiving!!
