Still no resolution. They just say the cars are checked out before you purchase. However, reviews show many have issues that buy cars from there.
BUYER BEWARE!
Our son bought a car from here 2 months ago. His car broke down in rural Missouri 150 miles from Springfield, MO.
He is stranded along side of the road with zero help from DRIVETIME or the warranty repair service company they own. Basically, they tell you pay to have it towed and get a rent a car and they will pay it back. If he had that kind of resources on hand he would not have bought from DRIVETIME. Emergency situation and they make it 100x more stressful.
Transmission went out on this car. We bought a truck from their last year from same place and just had to have new motor in. We too had to pay for tow and rental car and still have not been reimbursed. Their cars look nice but 2 out of 3 we bought have major issues.
We called corporate nasty rep named Cindy. Natasha at the dealership lied and said there were no managers and hung up.
3 cars never been late on a payment and they treat their customers like this. NOT REPUTABLE DEALERSHIP!
- Taves and plates included in loan
- Unreliable cars
Price reduction

Verified ReviewerBlown engine
Good afternoon, My daughter purchased a 2022 Kia Soul from the Drive Time in Jacksonville Fl on February 2024 and drove it until December of 2024 until the engine blew up. Now Kia will not replace the engine because Drive Time can't produce any documents pertaining to oil changes prior to 2022 even though the car is still under a 5 year warranty.
My daughter has all of her oil change paperwork. So now she is out a car and no one is wanting to fix it.
Please help. Dwain Nobles, Orange Park, Fl
Replacing the engine.

I purchased a 2018 jeep renegade in April 2024 and since May 2024 Ive had nothing but problems with this jeep. If the oil is low during a turn the jeep will stop in the middle of the street which is not safe at all.
The license plate light has gone out. The tail light has gone out and now the sun roof is having issues closing.
Full refund

Purchased vehicle that had many unknown issues
Unhappy customer. Purchased Feb 1, 2024.
Had a major issue with the vehicle 3.5 months after purchase. Something to do with the engine. Still not working right. Air was not working when I drove off the lot but assured by Donte that 30 days to fix with no out-of-pocket and $100 deductible after 30 days.
Had no problem with that. The issue arises when I find out, the issue was never documented, so customer care can't help. After speaking with Josh, he kept saying 30 days but I explained to him I was told 30 days only mattered with no out-of-pocket. In my opinion, the company wants to put blame on everything but the vehicles.
They say the cars go through an inspection but I'm highly doubtful. Please be sure you have them sign in blood so you're covered.
After car was in the shop for way over a month, drive it for a few days and had to return to the shop for a different issue. As of August 19, 2024, vehicle is STILL in the shop.
Warrenty company (Silverrock) and automotive shop are unable to compromise on pricing and how to fix it.
I've had the car for a total of 6.5 months and have only driven it less than 4 months. Rip off.

Verified ReviewerVehicle Broke Down 6 Days After Purchased
Car was purchased on 6/14/2024...on 6/20/24 several dash warnings lit and it was clearly having issues with acceleration.
Contacted both SilverRock and Drivetime and scheduled the mobile mechanic who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hrs. Did not happen!
Reached out to them again and they blamed SilverRock after several phone calls I then realized that the warranty they so willing;y offer with the benefits of towing and rental is only after I incurred the expense.
Long story short I finally get it to the shop and Uber it to work. Mind you this all occurred within the 30 day limited warranty.
The throttle body needed replaced, which I find hard to believe was not picked up in the inspection certificate they provided in not only the car I purchased, but all of the others I test drove. Unsurprisingly, that same certificate of inspection was not included in my paperwork, and when I inquired about it was told they are not legally obligated to provide it to the buyer.
After going back an forth for weeks it was determined that the service provider I chose from the ones they had listed was unable to repair the car and it would have to go to a Jeep dealer. Also at my expense if I want it towed.
I did a little research and the major shareholders at Drivetime, the warranty provider, SilverRock and the finance company, Bridgecrest are one in the same.
Furthermore, in the state of Maryland a used car dealer is legally bound to provide the buyer with a copy of that certificate!
The mechanic I spoke with said he would never deal with them again and my best bet would be to get rid of the car!
They have did absolutely nothing to help me and have given me the run around since this whole nightmare started!
They are absolutely taking advantage of people in desperate circumstances. You pay Drivetime a fee for selling you the vehicle, you pay thousands of dollars for a warranty they make you buy from a company the same people own and then they finance you at an insane interest rate through, Bridgecrest, also owned by the same people. Net worth of one CEO 9 billion dollars.
I just want my car fixed or replaced so I can feed my kid! So this far I have paid the down pymnt, two car payments, insurance and over $300 in Ubers bc I couldn't afford a rental with a $300 deposit!
And they are still dicking me around!
Now they expect me to find a Jeep dealer that deals with them in my area! That's gonna be hysterical!
Taking advantage of people in desperate situations disgraceful. I actually drove away thinking what a great service!
I'll keep talking until someone listens!
Everything under the limited warranty is covered so what is the freaking issue! I'll tell you what it is...you got my money and that's really all you're concerned about!
DON'T DO IT THEY ARE A COMPLETE RIP OFF!

Verified ReviewerI bought a 2017 Nissan Versa, the first day it was tire problems, than a another tire problem , flange on muffler broke , rust underside, transmission lines rotted 800.00 , same day engine light
Basically I was told that the extra warranty I got doesn’t for anything , I asked about trade I was told I can get another loan, foreclosure I will still have to pay the loan. They will not help at all
In going issues , dealerships sell damaged vehicles. Dont back or help even with the extended warranty.
I want a trade in , lower payments something to rectify this problem.
All the poor people who go to drive time and get taken for a ride. In a broken car.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are truly sorry to hear you experienced a mechanical concern soon after your purchase and if you were unable to take advantage of our Vehicle Return Policy.
We understand that mechanical concerns are never ideal. It's important to keep in mind that all our pre-owned vehicles are inspected before placing them on our lots. While they go through an inspection, we are unable to predict when future repairs may be needed. For this reason, we provide a Limited Warranty (LW) for mechanical failures within the first 30-days/1,500-miles. We also have an optional Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) to assist in most situations there-after.
As mentioned in your review, we offer a 5-day Vehicle Return Policy (VRP), which allows our customers the opportunity to inspect and get comfortable with their purchase. If they are not pleased with their vehicle, they can bring it back within the first 5-business days (not including the date of sale, holidays we are closed, and Sundays). If a customer experiences mechanical concerns during the VRP, they would need to decide if they would like to have the vehicle diagnosed and go through the warranty process or if they rather take advantage of the VRP.
We certainly appreciate your feedback and apologize once again for any inconvenience this caused. Please reach out to our Customer Relations department at (888) 290-0148, should you have any questions.
Respectfully,
DriveTime Customer Relations

Verified Reviewer |Horrible first time experience
I have only had the car for 2 of the 5 days that I am allotted until I can swap it for something else. The car was in 2 different shops on the other 2 days, which has kept me from being able to use it or return it in a timely manner.
Here we are on the 5th day and The weather is horrible: freezing rain ALL day. It is absolutely too risky to try to drive 20 miles away to return a car. I was told by the store manager that I absolutely had to bring it there today in order to be able to swap it out regardless of the weather. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable that I would be required to risk my life and the car.
Is there anyone in corporate who can bypass this 5 day thing for this instance? I havent even driven 100 miles in the car and I definitely dont plan on driving it anywhere today or tomorrow with the freezing rain and the ice storm advisory because I dont want damage the car or anyone else to damage the car.
- That they take advantage of you
- Given the runaround
I would like the 5 day return policy extended on my behalf due to a situation that is out of my control.

Thank you for submitting a review and sharing your feedback with us. I sincerely apologize if you are feeling misled by the approval options offered through our website. I want to assure you that we make our best effort to provide our customers with a clear set of expectations going into the approval process.

Once the vehicle is selected our sales team will be able to confirm your approval options. Our potential customers also have the option to use outside financing if they find a vehicle that they are interested in.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. We are truly sorry you experienced a mechanical concern just after your purchase.
We do understand how valuable everyone’s time is, and mechanical concerns are never ideal. I want to assure you that we do our best to try and prevent our customers from having any mechanical worry. It is important to keep in mind, all the vehicles we sell are pre-owned and some vehicles may show more wear than others. While our vehicles are inspected prior to placing them on our lots, we are unable to predict when future repairs may be needed. It is for this reason that DriveTime provides a Limited Warranty (LW) for mechanical failures within the first 30-days/1,500-miles, at no cost to our customers. Should the vehicle have a mechanical failure or fall below the safety guidelines from inspection. Any time a customer may be experiencing a mechanical issue after purchase we would encourage them to contact our warranty provider, SilverRock, for the next steps aimed to resolve our customer's concerns.
In addition to the Limited Warranty these services, as you indicated we do offer a 5-day Vehicle Return Policy (VRP) which allows time for any customer to inspect and get comfortable with their purchase. If they are not pleased with their vehicle, they can bring it back within the first 5 business days or 300 miles (not including the date of sale, holidays we are closed, and Sundays).
We certainly appreciate all feedback and thank you again for sharing yours. Please accept our apologies for any dissatisfaction you may hold with DriveTime. Please feel free to reach out to our corporate Customer Relations department at (888) 290-0148 and a member of our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Vehicle would not start same day I got it and went home
Purchased 2016 jeep compass on 12/4/2021 from Drivetime
Test drove vehicle and it was fine so I sign the paperwork and went home 18 miles from dealership.
Got home parked car for a few minute and when I got back In car it wouldn't start.
Called the store and car would not start while on phone the person who handled my account wanted me to either take car I bought 1 before to a repair shop or to bring vehicle back to them and pick another one but I had to do it in first 5 days
So far not happy this happened as dealership was closing on a Saturday and they are closed on Sunday I will have 2 loose a days pay to rectify
